Important notice for foreigners visiting Albania 🇦🇱
Based on many inquiries we receive, there is a common misunderstanding that leaving Albania briefly after 90 days and re-entering restarts the tourist stay period. This is not correct.
Foreign nationals visiting Albania as tourists are allowed to stay 90 days within any 180-day period. Staying longer will be considered an overstay.
Overstay may result in:
– An order to leave the country
– Financial penalties
– Possible rejection of future applications for Albanian residence permits or citizenship
Please note: U.S. citizens are exempt from this rule and may stay in Albania visa-free for up to one year.
If you plan to stay longer, make sure to follow the correct legal pathway.
