Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an apostille and legalisation?

An apostille is a single certificate valid in all countries party to the Hague Convention. Legalisation is used for countries outside the Convention and involves more steps: certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then by the embassy or consulate of the country where the document will be used.

Can I get an apostille without coming to Albania?

Yes. We assist you if you send us the document in the form we indicate.

How long is an apostilled document valid for use in Albania?

It depends on the institution where it will be used. For example, certificates for a visa application are valid for 1 month, documents for registering a company with a foreign corporate shareholder for 3 months, while the immigration office accepts some documents for up to 6 months.
